Grindstone gives back

At Grindstone we recognise that we owe it to our broader community to give back where we can.  We offer our services for free where possible for charitable organisations, the not for profit sector and for community events.

Rotary

Grindstone provided pro bono graphic design services to develop marketing materials for the Rotary 2010 Geelong district conference.  The theme of the conference is "Make an Impact" and the aim is to attract a new breed of young vibrant people to the Rotary cause.  Bright colours and interesting textural elements were utilised to take the marketing of Rotary conferences in to a whole new realm.

Grindstone also produced and edited a 10 minute DVD that was played at a recent Ballarat conference.  Designed to be both informational and inspirational the short film was set to the music of ACDC and inspired more than 400 Rotarians to dance in the aisles.

Lara Food and Wine Festival

The inaugural Lara food and Wine Festival has been hailed a great success.  With the likes of Catriona Rowntree and Gabriel Gaté presenting and a bevvy of local wineries, boutique breweries and gourmet food producers proffering their wares, there was something tantalising for everyone.  All this set in the grounds of the historic Pirra homestead at the foot of the You Yangs.

Grindstone volunteered to develop large scale banners, roadside signs, posters and flyers that were used to promote the event.  We also took photographs on the day.

Pathways

Pathways is an organisation that provides support to people suffering from mental illness.  Grindstone has been engaged to design and produce the Pathways annual report for the last three years.  We have also developed the Pathways CMS website and a flash website for its employment services arm, Clearwater Business Services.  We believe that it is our social responsibility to offer some of our services to Pathways on a pro bono basis.  Last year we filmed, edited and produced a DVD presentation for free which was aired at the Pathways AGM.  We also donated our time to produce directional signage for, and manage the audio visual display at the AGM.

Geelong Business Community Bushfire Appeal

The week after the disasterous black Saturday fires a group of business people from the Geelong community came together to organise an appeal to help bushfire survivors.  Within 24 hours of the initial meeting, Grindstone had developed a visual identity for the appeal, applied it to billboard advertising, flyers, and roadside signs and had gone live with a CMS website.
