It just so happens that this time, those people were us.
Grindstone is excited to share with you our new look, new website and new team.
We have been through a busy period in the life of the agency, collaborating with some exciting new clients, rolling out some large scale sites and continuing to deliver design solutions and brand experiences driven by ideas with meaning.
We’ve also added to our team, bringing in some new creative talent across key areas of our business in web development, design and brand strategy.
It’s for these reasons that we thought it was time to reload – updating our look and our site.
So we thought we’d share with you the thinking behind the new design. The line that runs through it all.
People often talk about drawing a line. In fact, it’s probably the easiest element to draw.
But from it, works of art, architecture and action have emerged.
We work with lines every day. We push them, step over them, work above, below and through them. We know a line can be a powerful thing. A connection between once separate spaces. A simple element that when repeated forms an expressive equation.
Grindstone exists to cut across the line between creative and digital. We have adapted this simple form of the line to epitomise how we work.
+ Is about adding value through ideas with meaning. Our integrated approach means we can offer additional services that help bridge the creative and digital divide. The plus for clients is that we operate as an extension of your team.
× In art or fashion, the use of X indicates a collaboration with two or more artists. We believe in the power of collaboration to create outcomes with multiplied impact.
⁄ The slash speaks not of division but of ability. All of our team is skilled across a range of specialisations, making us a studio of genuine slashies.

We took our time getting there. There were debates, ideas good and bad, restarts, many coffees and a dash of razzle-dazzle. Drawing on the strength of each of our team’s unique talents, this was a truly collaborative effort.
